Who can register with PIT Recruitment?
Registration is open to qualified teachers and to teachers completing a recognised route into the profession who are interested in working in British-curriculum or international schools. You can register while you are still researching, and there is no obligation to apply for anything.
Do I need Qualified Teacher Status?
Many British-curriculum schools ask for QTS, and in some countries the local regulator effectively requires it. Others will consider candidates with an equivalent recognised qualification or those completing a route to QTS.
The vacancy and the school are always the authority on what is required, so read the requirements on each role rather than assuming a single rule applies everywhere.
Do I need a PGCE?
A PGCE or PGDE is the most widely recognised evidence of initial teacher training among British-curriculum schools, and it makes an application easier to assess. Other recognised training routes are also accepted by many schools, particularly when combined with strong classroom experience.
Can early career teachers register?
Yes. You can register at any stage. In practice, a large number of international schools prefer at least two years of post-qualification classroom experience, so early career teachers may find fewer roles open to them at first. Registering early means we can contact you when something suitable appears.
What teaching experience should I include?
Include the curriculum you have taught, the year groups or key stages, the examination boards where relevant, and any leadership, coordination or pastoral responsibility. Concrete detail is far more useful to a school than general statements about your teaching style.
How do I upload my CV?
Create an account, then use the CV upload in your account area. We accept PDF, DOC and DOCX files up to 5MB.
Your CV is stored privately. It is never published on the website, and only our recruitment team can open it.
Can I apply for more than one vacancy?
Yes. You can apply for as many suitable roles as you wish, and you can add a short covering note to each application explaining why that particular school interests you. Every application you submit appears in your account.
Which countries does PIT Recruitment cover?
Our focus is British-curriculum and international schools in the Gulf and the wider Middle East. The destination guides on this site set out the markets we cover.
Does registering guarantee a job or an interview?
No. Registration means we can consider you for suitable roles and contact you when something matches. Shortlisting, interviews, offers, visas and start dates are decided by the school and by the relevant authorities, not by us.
Does PIT Recruitment charge teachers?
Our intended policy is that candidates are not charged recruitment fees, in line with standard practice for reputable international education recruitment. This policy is pending final founder confirmation before launch and will be stated definitively here once confirmed.
If anyone ever asks you to pay a fee in order to be considered for a role we have advertised, please contact us.
How is my information used?
Your details are used to assess your suitability for roles, to communicate with you about applications, and to put you forward to a school in connection with a role you have applied for or agreed to.
Internal recruiter notes are never shown to candidates or schools. The candidate privacy notice explains this in more detail.
How do I update or delete my account?
You can update your profile and replace your CV at any time from your account area. Account settings include options to request a copy of your data or to request deletion of your account, which our team will action.
How do interviews work?
Most international recruitment begins with an online interview arranged by the school. Depending on the role, there may be a task, a presentation, a recorded lesson or a live teaching activity, and senior appointments often involve several stages.
Who makes the final hiring decision?
The school does. We source, screen, shortlist and coordinate, but the appointment, the offer and the pre-employment checks are the school's responsibility.
