Legal

Cookie Policy

How PIT Recruitment uses necessary and optional cookies, and how to change or withdraw your choices at any time.

Draft — pending legal review. This policy describes how the website currently behaves. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified legal or data-protection adviser and must be checked before launch.

What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies and browser storage are small pieces of data saved by your browser. We use them for a small number of clearly defined purposes, described below. Where a purpose is optional, nothing is stored or loaded until you allow it.

Categories we use

1. Necessary (always on)

These are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are not used for tracking or advertising:

  • Authentication and session — Supabase sign-in for candidate accounts and the staff dashboard, so you stay signed in securely.
  • Security — protection of forms against automated abuse and rate-limiting of submissions.
  • Preferences — your chosen language and light/dark theme.
  • Your cookie choice — a record of the decision you made on this banner, so we do not ask again on every page.

2. Analytics (optional, off by default)

Anonymous measurement of how pages are used so we can improve the site. We intend to use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity in a future release. No analytics service is installed on this website at present, and none will load unless you give analytics consent.

3. Marketing (optional, off by default)

Advertising and cross-site tracking. PIT Recruitment does not use any marketing or advertising trackers. This category exists so that, if that ever changes, it will remain opt-in.

Your choices

When you first visit, you can Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Manage preferences. Rejecting is a single click, exactly like accepting.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent stops optional tracking and clears the stored decision, so you will be asked again.

What we store to remember your choice

Your decision is stored in your browser’s local storage under pit-consent. It contains only which categories you allowed, a policy version number and the date and time of your choice. It contains no name, email address, account identifier or any other personal information, and it is not sent to our servers.

Candidate privacy

Information you enter into forms — CV files, job applications, registration details, contact enquiries and anything in your account area — is never passed to analytics or marketing services. Should analytics be enabled in future, page addresses for the account, registration, CV upload, sign-in and staff areas are reduced to a generic label before any measurement service receives them.

Third parties

Our hosting and database provider (Supabase) processes authentication and application data as part of the service you request. Our email provider sends the service emails you would expect, such as application confirmations. Neither is used for tracking. See our Privacy Policy and Candidate Privacy Notice.
