REQUIRES FOUNDER AND PROFESSIONAL LEGAL REVIEW BEFORE LAUNCH: This is a working draft. Legal bases, international transfer safeguards and retention periods must be confirmed by a qualified legal professional, and company registration details are intentionally not yet stated.
Why you are receiving this notice
This notice is for teachers who register with PIT Recruitment or apply for a role through this website. It explains, in recruitment terms, what we do with your information. It sits alongside our general privacy policy.
Information you give us
- Registration details: your name, email address and account credentials
- Teaching profile: qualifications including QTS or PGCE, curriculum and phase or subject experience, examination boards, leadership or pastoral responsibility
- Employment history and references you choose to provide
- Destination preferences, the type of school you are looking for and your availability
- Your CV and any covering note submitted with an application
Information we generate
As we work on your candidacy we create records: the applications you have made, their status, correspondence with you, and internal recruiter notes recording our assessment and the practical detail of a search.
Internal recruiter notes are for our team only. They are never shown to candidates and are never sent to schools.
How we use your information
- To assess your suitability against the requirements of specific roles
- To present you to a prospective employer in connection with a role
- To communicate with you about applications, interviews and next steps
- To keep an accurate record of the recruitment process
- To protect the security and integrity of our service
Sharing with prospective employers
This is the part that matters most to candidates, so we want to be plain about it. We share your profile and CV with a school only in connection with a role you have applied for, or a role you have agreed to be put forward for after we have discussed it with you.
We do not circulate candidate CVs speculatively to schools that have not been discussed with you. If a school asks us about a candidate profile in general terms, we do not identify you without your agreement.
Because the schools we will work with are outside the United Kingdom, being put forward will normally involve your information being transferred internationally.
Security
Your record is protected by access controls applied at the database level, so other candidates cannot see it. CV files are held in private storage that is not publicly accessible, and are opened by our team through short-lived links that are logged.
Retention
We keep your candidacy information while your account is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we can consider you for future roles and respond to any questions about a past application. If you ask us to delete your account, we will action that request, subject to any records we are required to keep.
Exact retention periods are subject to professional legal review before launch.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information in the circumstances where those rights apply, and you can ask for a copy of your data. Your account settings include options to request a data export or account deletion.
You can also complain to the relevant supervisory authority for data protection.
